8.29.24 Updates

Greetings,

I hope this message finds you well. We have a lot of exciting updates and important information regarding the marching band, so please read through the following details.

Cookie Dough Delivery: The delivery for cookie dough will take place on Thursday, September 5th. Kindly make arrangements to pick up your orders that evening after practice.

Water Donations: As we enter competition season, we are in need of donations of cases of water. Please drop them off at the band room. While students still need to bring their own water jugs to practice, we go through a significant amount of water on days when we provide two meals for the students.

Snack Donations: For our first competition weekend, we would greatly appreciate donations of snacks such as granola bars, cheese and crackers, and small bags of chips.

Home Show Preparation: Our annual home show is approaching quickly! On September 14th, the Stadium of Champions will host 12 competing bands, bringing over 1,000 students, staff, and bus drivers to town. With their families and fans attending, it promises to be a major event. We need many volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly. Please use the links or QR code below to sign up.

We will also have a hospitality room for the directors, staff, and bus drivers of the competing bands. In past years, our Mexican taco bar has been a hit with our guests. You can sign up to contribute items through the provided link or QR code. Items are grouped by band sections.

Concession Stand: We will operate a concession stand at all six home football games this year. We need volunteers to work and a griller for each game. Please refer to the links or QR code below to sign up.

Show Shirts: Show shirts have been ordered. While I don’t have a specific delivery date yet, they should arrive before the first football game. I’ll provide an update once they are in. We will also have extras available for sale.

Band Booster Meeting: Join us for the Band Booster meeting on Monday, September 9th at 6:00 PM in the band room, where we will discuss details about the home show.

Personal Ads for Home Show Program: Personal ads for the home show program are due by September 5th. Submitting them sooner is appreciated, as it’s a wonderful way to give a special shout-out to your student. For more information, visit colonelband.org.

Sponsorships: We are still looking for businesses to sponsor the Colonel Band for the year. You can find this information on our website, www.colonelband.org 

Pancake Breakfast: We will begin our presale of our pancake breakfast soon. The date of the breakfast is September, 21st.

There are several ways for you to volunteer.  It takes everyone contributing to make this year truly A STEP ABOVE.

We will be offering for sale this year a 50X60 Christian County Colonel fleece blanket for $35. April Mase will have them for sale most practices, meetings, and home show.
